Fishers claiming wins and placings

THE Rosewood Amateur Fishing Club’s first saltwater competition at Jacobs Well – Jumpinpin, had a slow start.

Heavy rain and wind was forecast, so the trip was postponed to the following weekend (April 27 and 28).

However, for the seven members who braved the weather, most returned with a few fish in the esky.

First place went to Daren Henderson with seven bream, earning 44.4 points.

Followed by his wife Donna, who bagged three bream and a nice 0.94kg tarwhine for 32.8 points. (Bream and tarwhine are counted in the same category)

Third place went to Ken Slater with two bream and two whiting, giving him 21.8 points on the board.

On the May long weekend, 28 senior and five junior members made the long trip to Glenlyon Dam, for the favourite competition of the year.
