A new air conditioning unit has been installed in the Marburg Community Centre, as a result of a $14,080 grant from the Ipswich City Council.
The Marburg and District Residents Association received the grant as a result of the council visiting the centre, where the need for the unit was observed.
Marburg and District Residents Association Secretary Wendye Gratton said that the resident’s association were extremely grateful to have been successful in receiving this grant.
“During the seasons and the change in temperature, the centre can become quite uncomfortable, so air conditioning has really made such a difference,” she said.
“Work on the centre has been taking place for many years and now with the addition of the new air conditioning unit, we are nearing the competition of the projects in the centre.
“This community facility is a centre of which we can all be proud of, and it is used by many different groups to offer services and social activities to the community.”
