Poetry Corner – It is True

With four fingers and one thumb,

I can tantalise your senses, and make you think!

Or, if you choose, you can ignore, and act dumb.

With pen and paper, and a creative mind.

There is no end, to what you might find.

To circumnavigate the globe.

With thoughts, and experiences from hindsight.

This can be done alone in private.

In your room, in the quiet of night.

What am I talking about, you may ask?

To arrange words into what is called poetry.

Something not really simple, you have to be up to the task!

Inspiration comes from many sources,

Everyday life, with its many challenges,

And stored knowledge, from past resources.

Words can challenge, your mind.

Or, open doors, for new experiences to find.

With four fingers and one thumb,

And pen in hand.

You could create something simple or grand.

It has been said, the pen is mightier that the sword!

It is true.

With what you can achieve, with a well-chosen word!
