ROSEWOOD Craft and Quilters hosted their yearly Breast Cancer Morning Tea to raise funds for cancer research and to present quilts to different organisations.
Group member, Deborah Heit, said there were some “amazing quilts on display that included embroidery, crocheting and other crafts that the members had created over the past two years”.
The quilts on display included an interesting collection from one of the Group’s foundation members, Enid Smith, who had a display of items which dated as far back as the 18th century.
“Quilts were given to the Brisbane Children’s Hospital, the Ipswich Hospital, Cabanda Nursing home, Nowlanville Nursing Home, the Brain Tumour Family Group and any other organisations that required a quilt for a raffle.
“With the takings at the door and the raffle from the day, Nurse Karen Miles from the Jane McGrath Nurses at Ipswich Hospital was presented with a cheque for $1,000.”
