ROSEWOOD Country Women’s Association opened their doors and their kitchen to children who joined them for a morning of cooking and creating healthy treats.
The program which is called the Queensland CWA County Kitchen is an interactive activity that aims to bring healthy options to the table.
Rosewood CWA International Officer Gaylene Stack welcomed the families as she put on her apron to help the children get creative with fruit, vegetables and baked goods.
“Our members assisted the children with making dolphins out of bananas and grapes, it was a really creative way to show children that food can be fun and healthy,” she said.
“Pancakes were also decorated with strawberries and berry’s, the children had fun with the activity and then they enjoyed eating their creations once complete.”
The children asked the CWA members questions about the fruits that were used and they were then invited to take home their healthy recipes to share with family and friends.
