Poetry Corner – Are you Listening?

As the morning sun caresses my brow,

I sit and think.

Of things past, and things now!

Changes have come, not always for the best,

When you put mankind’s inventions to the test.

Take a look, at each new device,

There can be good.

Yet, on the down side, more crime and vice!

Remember, when we were children, playing in the sun?

Life was simple!

We laughed and had fun.

With eyes not focused upon a screen.

We would play games,

It was called exercise, do you know what I mean?

Now, we have to have needles and wear a mask,

Can you believe it,

Are we really up to the task?

The morning sun, warms me on this winter morn

As I think back to when I was born!

And think about what lies ahead.

Are you listening,

Have you heard a word that I said?
