Celebrate sports local legends

NOMINATIONS are now open for the 2025 Ipswich Sports Awards, with locals urged to put forward standout athletes, coaches, volunteers and clubs making a difference in the community.

Ipswich City Council will honour excellence across eight categories –

• Senior Sportsperson of the Year,

• Junior Sportsperson of the Year,

• Masters Sportsperson of the Year,

• Team of the Year,

• Sporting Organisation of the Year,

• Coach of the Year,

• Official of the Year, and

• Volunteer of the Year.

Winners will each receive $2,000 in prize money.

Community and Sports Committee Chairman Jacob Madsen said the awards recognised those who contributed on and off the field.

“Sport brings our city together – this is our chance to celebrate those who go above and beyond,” he said.

Entries close Sunday, August 10.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony on Wednesday, October 29.
