THE Rosewood Roosters didn’t get the C-Grade result they were looking for against a strengthened Fassifern opponent that won the latest rugby league match at Anzac Park.
However, the men’s team displayed Indigenous spirit by wearing a specially designed jersey in their Rugby League Ipswich home game loss to their country rivals.
Rosewood club president Shane Brandley was proud the men’s recognition followed earlier appreciation for the efforts of Indigenous women.
Regional footballers Daniel Wes-Pes and Jerara Semple designed the jersey with Indigenous significance, acknowledging the connection of First Nation’s people in the community.
The jerseys were made with dominant pink circles in addition to the Roosters’ traditional red strip.
