Kokoda – On the right track
Dion and the Kokoda Team set-off at midday on Saturday July 13 to conquer the gruelling 48klm Kokoda Challenge on the Gold Coast.
The course consists of 48km of steep mountainous terrain throughout the Gold Coast hinterland. The team hike continuously through the night with a total vertical elevation of 2km and emerged at approx. 5.30am on Sunday morning.
The Rosewood Kokoda Kids were sore and tired at the conclusion but learned the valuable lessons of resilience, leadership and teamwork.
Now the Kokoda Kids will commence the Community Service portion of the program as a way to give- back to the Rosewood community who have supported them throughout the program. Keep an eye out for the ‘Red shirts’ who will be in the community over the next few months.
