ROSEWOOD resident Jenny Stubbs is the Ipswich City Council Cultural Australia Day Award winner for 2024.
Jenny was nominated for the Cultural Award for her role as director of the StoryArts Festival in Ipswich since its inception in 1995.
Throughout this time, she has led the development of children’s literature in Ipswich through the festival’s national attraction while supporting local authors and illustrators.
In 2023, Jenny was the recipient of the Childrens Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Nan Chauncy Award.
The prestigious Nan Chauncy Award honours individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the field of Australian children’s literature.
Jenny is also a member of many different organisations and charities such as the CBCA Queensland branch, the Ipswich District Teacher Librarian Network, Queensland Books.
As Director of the StoryArts Festival, Jenny has won the Dromkeen Librarians Award and the Johnno Award which was presented by the Queensland Writers Centre.
She is also a recipient of the Dame Annabelle Rankin award for distinguished services to children’s literature by the Children’s Book Council of Australia Queensland branch.
