I HELD on to the hope that illegal dumping of tyres on our roadsides had come to an end, after reporting it to the local police only five months ago, but it seems people are at it again.
As a resident of Mount Walker, I regularly use Mount Walker West Road, Mount Walker, a place that usually is clean and safe.
In May of this year while driving on the road late at night, I came across a stack of tyres that were dumped on the side of the road.
Instantly I thought, why do people think that it is okay to do such a thing, and do they know that it is illegal and not the right thing to do?
Now again on October 10, while driving along the same road, I came across the same act, which is tyres left stacked and dumped on the side of the road.
It is frustrating for the locals, it is dangerous for other road users, and it is a problem.
It is simple, stop making your problem everyone else’s problem and it is not the responsibility of others to pick up after lazy and inconsiderate people.
