Handing the keys over to new bus

ROSEWOOD Lions Club President Bernie Newell has presented Cabanda Care staff with the keys to a new bus.

It represents a donation of $50,000 for the purchase of the new bus which came from the Rosewood Lions Clubs Community Fund.

Cabanda Care General Manager Robin Christelow said the bus would be used to transport residents to Cabanda’s Day Respite Centre.

Respite care is part of the centre’s activities where clients enjoy day trips to the surrounding district’s attractions.

“The bus which is a Toyota Hi Ace 12 seater, which will keep the Cabanda fleet at two,” Mr Christelow said.

“It will be put to good use, and enjoyed by all of our clients.”

“This donation came as a result of the old Cabanda bus breaking down.

“Cabanda is very grateful to the Rosewood Lions for their assistance in being able to purchase this new bus to provide safe and comfortable transport for our clients.”

Lions President Bernie Newell said it was one of the biggest donations that the Club had made in many years.

“The Lions are happy to see the money go to a great cause,” he said.

“As the President of the Rosewood Lions I am so glad to be involved in such a positive donation, as the Lions are always here to support the local community.”
