INVESTIGATIONS are underway into the cause of a bushfire at Ashwell outside Rosewood on Saturday morning.
The fast moving fire front led to the 12.33pm warning from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) for Stevens Road residents to ‘prepare to leave’.
The fire initially broke out along Stevens Road and threatened some homes and other buildings and houses in the area.
Crews from the Rural Fire Service fought the fire on the ground using heavy pumper and attack vehicles. Several aircraft were also involved in the effort including water bombers and a large air tanker.
As the Emergency Crews gained ground, the warning level dropped to ‘watch and act’.
Reports indicate that no buildings were damaged in the fire and it was fully contained just after 10am on Sunday.
