THE Marburg Community Park was filled with festivities, activities and local celebrities for the 2023 Black Snake Creek Festival, on Saturday.
There was plenty to see, hear and do and it was all themed around ‘Back to our German Heritage’.
Residents dressed to impress while music by the German band Continental Chill echoed through the park.
Hosted by the Marburg and District Residents Association, the event was officially opened by invited guests, Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann, Member for Ipswich West Jim Madden and Mayor Teresa Harding and Association President Sandra Rockett.
Sandra welcomed everyone to the event, saying that the association was extremely pleased to see “a great turn out”.
“This event has been a long tradition that not only brings families together to showcase what Marburg has to offer, but raises funds for the Association so that activities and programs can continue to be delivered to the community,” she said.
“With perfect weather, a great number of market stalls, artwork that has brightened up the Green shed, and overall, a wonderful turnout – as President, I am very proud.”
Activities included a billy cart race teamed by competitors from the Marburg Emergency Services, the Ipswich City Council and the Young Veterans Group.
