ROSEWOOD Bowls Club and Grandchester State School P&C are winners in the latest ‘super round’ of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
In an announcement made late on Friday night, it was revealed that the Bowls Club had secured $58,000 to spend on facility upgrades, while the Grandchester P&C was allocated $10,000 to purchase equipment.
Bowls Club President Terry Hobden said the news that the club has been successful in receiving a grant was very exciting for the facility and also its members.
“The funds will be used to upgrade and improve the club building,” he said.
“We are looking at building a deck on the front entrance of the building to enhance the appearance and to provide a space where members and visitors can relax while they watch a game of bowls.
“I am extremely grateful for these funds and I am also thankful to Club member Greg James for applying for and completing all of the paperwork to apply for this grant.”
