Rosewood Community Bank grants on offer

THE Community Bank Rosewood and District 2023 Grants Program is now open and applicants can now apply online any time between September 1 and October 2.

Branch Manager Peter Groenenberg said grants of up to $10,000 were available, following a five year hiatus due to Covid-19 and the poor economic climate with low interest rates.

“During 17 years of operation, the Community Bank has returned almost $1.8 million to the local community through grants, sponsorships and shareholder dividends and this could not be possible without the support from our loyal customers,” he said.

“In 2018, the Community Bank Grants Program supported local groups with funding of $88,095.17 by means of 14 grants, 11 sponsorships, the purchase of several defibrillators and a training defibrillator.

“Two of the defibrillators were presented to the community by the Rosewood Lions Club. One is currently utilised jointly between the Rosewood swimming pool and the Rosewood Rugby League Club and one was installed at the Rosewood showgrounds.

“The Community Bank has secured funding for several larger community projects in conjunction with other organisations.

“These include the World War I soldier statue for the Rosewood RSL Sub Branch, the disability hoist and sling at the Rosewood swimming pool and sandbagging machines for the Rosewood and Marburg State Emergency Services.”

A presentation evening will be held at the Rosewood State School Hall on November 16 for the successful applicants. The evening will include a light supper.
