Marburg Show set to entertain all ages

FAMILIES can expect an action-packed time at this year’s Marburg Show with entertainment, main arena events, a side show alley, rides and pavilions that will showcase local produce and talent.

Show Vice President Barb Frohloff said the society was excited about the annual event that brings the whole community together.

“There will be something for everyone in the main arena with horse events, such as dressage, show jumping, the outstanding Friesian horse display, pacing, miniature horses and of course the main parade, which highlights all the talent on show,” she said.

“In the pavilions, judges will be kept busy as they award many entries in the Lego, needlework, cooking, produce, fruit and vegetable, horticulture, photography and the school work displays.”

The pavilions house more than static displays.

“There will be an assortment of entertainment [in the pavilions] from educational displays and around the grounds will be balloon twisting, circus acts, puppets show, an animal nursery, giant bubbles, face painting and a stilt walker.”

And for added comfort, and entertainment, there’ll be a train.

“It’s a way for families to really enjoy the show, while taking in the surrounds,” Barb said.

“The train will be running all day free of charge.

“This service will take showgoers around the market stalls, a variety of food and drink stalls and all of the entertainment throughout the day.

“For thrill seeking and those who like to enjoy the side show alley the dodgem cars, laughing clowns, and an assortment of different rides will be open for all ages.”

Just some of the other entertainment includes the Royal Australian Air Force Pipe Band, singer and song writer Lester Knopke, Billy Bridge and dancers from the Lockyer Valley Dance Centre and of course the fireworks will go off with a bang to light up the night sky.
