A NIGHT of glamour on the dance floor was enjoyed at the annual Marburg Show Ball on Saturday night.
The categories of entrants in the Showgirl quest were Junior Show Princess and Junior Prince, Show Prince and Princess, Show Queen, Junior Show Male, Junior Show Matron, Senior Show Male and Senior Show Matron.
Marburg Show Society President Donald Noble said the night was well attended with more than 100 people enjoying a friendly night out with a two course dinner.
“The Marburg Show Ball is all about inviting families to dress up and enjoy a full night of dancing and good food with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere,” he said.
“It is great to see so many families who make the effort to dress up and take part in the different show ball categories, which is always enjoyable where judges come together to choose the winners in each section.”
Judges on the night were Milli and Warren Kerle and Ronda and Kevin Palmer.
The Show President said the dancers enjoyed many different dances including the waltz, the Cha Cha and rock and roll favourites as well as many old time and new vogue classics.
“It is great to see so many returning families and familiar faces who have been supporting the society for many years, we also welcome new families, in particular the younger generations to dress up and join in to keep the tradition going,” he said.
“In the lead up to the main event which is the Marburg Show, the dance is an exciting way to commence what is part of the biggest event to happen in the Marburg area.
“As a committee we are all looking forward to welcoming everyone to the show, which will be an action-packed event, that will cater to the young and the young at heart.”
He thanked everyone for supporting the ball and said he looked forward to another successful Show.
