THE Rosewood Returned Services League committee was congratulated for a successful 2022, by Ian Dainer from the Moreton District RSL at the Annual General.
Mr Dainer attended the meeting and congratulated President Bernie Mason, Treasurer Ian Luetchford and Secretary Carmel Luetchford for their hard work and dedication to the sub branch and its members.
Mr Mason said that 2022 was “a great year” for the sub branch, reporting that Anzac Day and Remembrance Day attracted large crowds, which included many families and school children.
“During the year the committee enjoyed organising social outings for the members, which included a day trip to Vietnam Veteran Doug Browns house to enjoy his memorabilia display, barbeque lunches, and also a bus trip to the Caloundra Air Museum,” he said.
“Our sub branch has been involved in catering for groups and has been successful in obtaining several grants to assist with many projects.
“Upgrades have also taken place to our sub branch meeting room, which included the installation of air conditioning, awnings, block-out blinds, and new technology.
“There has also been a marked improvement in welfare for our members, which is great because that is what the sub branch is all about.”
The sub branch is aiming to continue its success this year and is working towards establishing an honour board in Rosewood for the World War II diggers in the area, after it was brought to the attention of the committee members that there was not one currently on display.
The sub branch executive will remain the same for 2023.
