In court

On January 13, a 17-year-old juvenile from Ipswich was arrested and charged with multiple burglary, unlawful use and stealing offences committed throughout the Walloon, Brassall and Karana Downs areas. The juvenile was bailed to appear in the Ipswich Children’s court on February 6.

On January 27, after a protracted investigation, police from Rosewood and the Ipswich Property Crime Team arrested a man in relation to a series of property crimes involving multiple burglaries and vehicle thefts which had occurred in the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast areas.

Polair tracked a stolen vehicle to a Rosewood address where a North Ipswich man, 18, was arrested and charged with burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and drug possession. He was remanded in custody and will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on February 20.

On January 23 Police from Rosewood and Ipswich CIB went to a Rosewood address after receiving a report of a disturbance. A Leichhardt man, 23, was charged with attempted robbery and wilful damage to a vehicle. The man was bailed and will appear in Court on February 17.

Serious traffic crash

On January 3, police from Rosewood and the Forensic Crash Unit went to a Lanefield Road home in Rosewood after a vehicle left the roadway and collided with a pole. The driver, a 63-year-old woman from Greenbank sustained major injuries and was transported to hospital in a serious condition. She died on Saturday, February 4.

The crash is a reminder to remain vigilant on our roads and to stay safe.

Mobile Police Beat

Rosewood Police will be utilising the Mobile Police Beat Facility at the Henry Lawson Bicentennial Park in Walloon on the February 15.

Please feel free to drop by and say hello to your local Police and have a look through this valuable facility. It is anticipated that the Mobile Police Beat will be used throughout the Rosewood area more regularly once the building of the new Rosewood Police Station begins.
