Salt and sand,
And a soft breeze drifts over the land.
Summertime, back at the beach,
Because of circumstances beyond our control,
For a while for us,
This had been out of reach.
To sit and watch the waves roll in.
Helps to revitalise the senses,
To enjoy open spaces.
Instead of being locked behind fences.
Do we appreciate being part of a country like this?
Another day in paradise, perfect bliss.
Australia the lucky country, so they say,
It’s true, we wouldn’t want it any other way!
The virus came and wrecked our plans,
We faced the problem as best we could,
How we face the future,
Is in our hands!
People move around free at last,
Take it easy, don’t move so fast!
Salt air and sand,
Welcome to this great southern land.
