THE Rosewood State Emergency Service recently received an $800 donation from the Rosewood Branch of the Australian Labor Party.
Last year, when the local branch of the ALP was looking at ways to give back to the community, members decided to host a raffle with prizes made up of vouchers that could be used at local businesses.
“All funds from the raffle were donated to the Rosewood SES,” said member, Wendy Bourne.
“This was a way to show appreciation to the SES volunteers for their dedication and commitment that they show to the community
“In the past, members of the SES have been incredible and they are always there for families within the community when needed.
“Referred to as Orange Angels, the SES respond when devastation strikes, in particular through floods, storms and local emergencies that the community has faced.
“With a commitment to respond at any time whether it is during the day or night, SES volunteers work hard to support the local police, fire and rescue teams with a duty to help others.
“The Rosewood SES will be hosting an open day sometime early in the year and I strongly encourage the community to come along to support them.”
