A GARDEN wonderland complete with fairy houses has been created in a garden in Rosewood with help from Rosewood Men’s Workshop volunteer Gordon Minett.
Property owner, Tanya Johnson said she had wanted to radically change her front garden for some time, but needed assistance.
“Once an ugly old concrete slab sat in my yard and now there’s an eye catching main focal point that really brightens up the space, thanks to the hard work and help from Gordon,” she said.
“I simply had a table there with water and food for the birds, but the waste that pigeons left behind put me off that idea, so I removed the containers and wanted something different.”
Tanya put a request out into the community to purchase old tree logs and roofing iron for the fairy houses, saying that it was “great to see” what can be done with recycled materials.
“All of the houses face the footpath so that families who walk past my house can enjoy the creativity that has gone into making the feature houses,” she said.
“Thank you very much to the wonderful Gordon who came to assist me and brought my idea to life, after purchasing the front and back doors and painting them myself and adding some rocks and grass the final result is now complete for all to enjoy.”
