Mow money presentation to Marburg Show Society

BIG smiles all round for the Marburg Show Society which has just officially trialled the new Husqvarna Zero Turn Lawn Mower that was purchased with part of a $33,432 grant from the State Government.

Ipswich West MP Jim Madden said he was “thrilled to be able to visit the Marburg Showgrounds to shake hands with the President Ross Buchanan” as he handed over the giant cheque.

“This grant was part of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund which is Queensland’s largest one-off grants program with several openings each year, and I was very happy for the society to have been successful,” Mr Madden said.

“This mower will really make such a great difference to the lives of the volunteers who all dedicate numerous hours each year to ensure the society continues to run successfully.

“Funds will also be used to make improvements to the show hall and to the grounds surrounding it, and I am looking forward to following this progress and to visiting once again to see the works complete.

Mr Buchanan said that the news was a great relief to all the committee and to the volunteers.

“For many years the volunteers have been maintaining the grounds using an old mower, which has completed the job but at times does take some hours to complete,” he said.

“The new mower is really fantastic and it will cut the time that it takes to maintain such a big space while also providing a more comfortable ride.

“We are very grateful to have received it.

“Our society does provide the community with the annual show and also other events throughout the year so upgrades to the kitchen and the show hall will not only benefit the society but they will also benefit community.”
