MORE than $600 was raised by the Rosewood CWA when they hosted a ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ fundraiser for families who have felt the impact of cancer.
Rosewood CWA member Nelly Haly said that each year the organisation prepares sandwiches, cakes and sweets, which are packaged and sold within the community.
“It is always an enjoyable morning where our members reach out to raise money.
“We raised $612, which is an impressive total.”
She added that every dollar raised makes a difference.
“Not only do we know that our efforts are beneficial in the lives of others, but the morning overall is a great chance to meet people while also sharing what the CWA does in the community,” Ms Haly said.
“Our morning tea was a huge success in doing many positive things and I want to thank the members within the CWA and also the community.
“Fundraisers like this one are an example of what working together can achieve.”
The home-made goodies that were made, were accompanied with tea, coffee and friendly conversation and Ms Haly said CWA members were looking forward to supporting the cause again next year.
