When we were young,
We used to listen to the radio after school,
Something at the time, we thought was cool.
To listen to, Biggles and The Lone Ranger,
Which helped us to be creative and think.
Back then, everyone knew each other.
No one was stranger!
Some nights, Mum would play the piano.
And sing in tune.
Summer evenings, we would sit on the verandah.
In the light of a silver moon!
Do you remember a similar situation?
When there was harmony across the nation?
Times have changed, I have to say.
Society is so different today!
We can’t roll back time.
But memories are still there, yours and mine!
Do you remember radio?
When Mum would listen to Blue Hills,
A serial, she would never miss.
It now seems so long ago!
Are you still young at heart?
Good, that’s what sets you apart!
