A new plaque has been installed at the Haigslea Cemetery

A HISTORY marker plaque has been installed outside the Haigslea Cemetery following the theft of the original plaque in June 2021.

The theft was reported to the Ipswich City Council by Bob Krause, a member of the Rosewood Lutheran Church congregation.

The plaque commemorated the presence of a Lutheran church and congregation in the area – the congregation was established around 1866 and the church was consecrated in 1873.

Council organised and paid for the new plaque to be installed.
