THIS year the Rosewood Lions partnered with Rotary and the Queensland Ambulance Service to introduce a new Medi Alert Project containing Emergency Medical Information Booklets into the Cabanda Care Independent Units.
The project was co-ordinated by Rosewood Lion Tanya Johnson who is a resident in one of the units.
Tanya said she worked with the various services in making the project happen.
“I was thrilled to find out that more than 60 residents now have the Emergency Medical Information Booklets filled out, on display in their homes and ready just in case of an emergency,” she said.
“Inside the booklet, residents simply record their personal and medical information with a current print out list of medications, emergency contacts and hospital visits.
“Ambulance officers will then have access to current medical information if called out to the resident’s homes in the case of an emergency, and their information will be regularly checked and updated when necessary.”
