Action packed family fun day at Marburg racetrack

The Easter Sunday Fun Day at the Marburg racetrack is on again this year.

It is hosted by the Marburg Pacing Association and with nine races and lots of free children’s entertainment it promises to be another great day out.

The gates open at 11am and the racing program begins at midday.

“Start your day with a famous Marburg burger and a cold drink at the Battlers Bar before heading out to the track where all of the excitement will begin,” says Association Secretary Denis Smith.

“This year we are excited to announce that the pick the card competition prize money has increased to $10,000 thanks to major sponsor Oakwood Capital,” he said.

“Pick the winner in the last seven races on the day and be part of this grand prize – a great incentive to back your race favourites on the day.”

One of the feature races is the live harness Oakwood Capital Goldstone Series.

“There are some big names battling it out for the win,” says Denis.

“Mini trots will fill the track with the ponies and their drivers will stand out with all their different coloured outfits.”

Denis adds that the mini trotters are always a crowd favourite.

“Families are invited up to the fence for a pat and a chat after the race.”

And, then, of course, there’s the Funny Money.

“Your Funny Money can be found in the Race Book,” Denis explains.

“You can use it to bet on your race favourite and watch it grow for your chance to bid with it for great prizes after the last race of the day.

“We also have multi prize raffles, a pick the card competition for $2,000, lucky race book prizes and a losing betting ticket draw so everyone is a winner at Marburg.”

With the excitement of big prize money there’s a chance to win a free rock-climbing wall.

The dodgem cars will be open for children to join their friends for a full day of fun.

“The Easter Bunny will make a special visit, gifting each child an Easter treat – don’t miss this great photo opportunity,” he said.

“Fashions on the Field will kick off at the grandstand and all ages are welcome to enter,” Denis says, “there’s some prizes to be awarded to the winner in each age category.”

The team at the Marburg Pacing Association invite you to come along to enjoy an affordable day out that is full of excitement and action in the friendly country atmosphere this Easter Sunday.
