DANCING, music and dinner backgrounded by thousands of flowering sunflowers on the Kerle’s Mt Walker farm drew a crowd on Saturday night.
The event was hosted by Norm and Sandra Kerle and their family.
Norm said he was overwhelmed by the support that he had received from local businesses and community groups.
“This was the first time my family has held something of this nature on our farm and to be honest I was very happy to see so many familiar and new faces join us for what was said to be an enjoyable evening,” he said.
Guests were delighted to find that the sea of yellow sunflowers was offset by the deep red tones of varieties known as Royal Velvet and Solar Eclipse.
“It was great to see families enjoying the sunflowers as they walked out into the fields taking photos and admiring their beauty on sunset,” Norm said.
“It was a perfect experience, one that I hope they will take with them and cherish.”
Although the sunflowers were the main feature of the evening, the long table dinner among the olive trees and the bush dance which followed made the event even more memorable.
“I want to thank everyone for supporting us and for coming out to enjoy our farm and our sunflowers,” Norm said.
“It has opened my eyes to different ways I can utilise my farm and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.”
