LIAM Walters has been selected to compete in the Greater Brisbane Conference Swimming Carnival on March 18 at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre.
Seven schools in the Greater Brisbane region will compete in the Carnival.
Liam is a Year 7 student at Faith Lutheran College.
He was selected for achieving the qualifying times.
Swimming has always been a passion for Liam and he will be competing in freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke.
He said he likes to push himself each week at swimming club and when training to try to improve on his personal best times.
“I am very excited to be selected to swim in this event, I am looking forward to travelling to Brisbane to see the pool, and to compete against other schools, I think it will be really fun,” he said.
“When I am swimming I am happy. I like it because it keeps me fit and also, I meet lots of new friends who encourage and help me with my technique.”
In the lead up to the Carnival, Liam will be training at the Rosewood Pool.
