St Brigid’s school leaders inducted

THE Year 6 school leaders at St Brigid’s Catholic Primary school were formally inducted into their roles last week by Principal Duane Wann, Year 6 teacher Mr Earley and special guest Father Stephen Bliss from the Ipswich Catholic Community.

The Captains for 2022 are Tahnee Spark and Dustee-Rose Wilson who were invited to the stage to deliver a speech to the school community, special guests, family and friends.

The leaders expressed their enthusiasm to take on their new leadership roles and said that they will lead by example, while being there for their fellow students.

Mr Wann said that as a leader making decisions can be challenging and sometimes the right decisions are not always popular and the popular decisions are not always the right ones.

“Our school leaders lead by our school values which are care, compassion and respect, and if we can show care to others and be kind, I think we are going to be on the right road,” he said.

Father Stephen Bliss congratulated the students saying that this time is an important one in their schooling journey.

“Each and every student within the school is a shining light who is encouraged to always do their best no matter what situation they are faced with,” he said.

“The teachers and support staff at school are always here to support the leaders to encourage them and to support them throughout this exciting new experience.”

The ceremony closed with an invitation to all of the family members and friends of the leaders to enjoy morning tea in the school hall.
