A SHOW-stopping Rolls Royce led more than 200 bikes to the Rosewood RSL branch last Saturday in the Wounded Heroes Military Muster ride to raise funds for Veterans and rural Australia.
Rosewood RSL Secretary Carmel Luetchford said the Military Muster catering event came about after an approach from the Military Brotherhood.
“They are a group of current serving members and Veterans who all share a passion for motorbikes and riding,” she said.
“The group are keen to affiliate with our RSL Sub Branch so we can work together.
“The military muster along with a couple of other military motorcycle groups, run this muster each year.
“This year they are supporting Wounded Heroes which is a community-funded organization which is also committed to helping veterans.
“The Rosewood RSL members saw this as an opportunity to establish relations with other organisations that are dedicated to helping Veterans.
“All these groups, along with the RSL, offer something different to the Veteran community and hopefully by working together we can reach more Veterans and provide more options for support.”
Australian Horizons Foundation raffled off a customised Rolls Royce Ghost, with proceeds going to Wounded Heroes Australia.
“On the day, the riders started with a breakfast at the Wounded Heroes site at Wacol before traveling through the Lockyer Valley to Rosewood for morning tea,” Carmel said.
“Tea and coffee was enjoyed alongside goodies supplies by the RSL before the riders returned to the Wounded Heroes for lunch and fellowship.”
