ROSEWOOD Choir volunteers Ellie Pickersgill and Ginny Roberts are encouraging community members to come forward to find their passion in music.
The group which meets at the Rosewood Girl Guides Hall each Monday evening is run by choir leader Ellie Pickersgill.
“Music is great for the mind, body and soul and when families sing together it creates a beautiful sound,” she said.
“Singing in a choir can be liberating, especially for people who find their voice for the first time or for people who once sang years ago and didn’t think they could sing anymore.
“You don’t have to know how to read music or know how to sing to come along and take part, it is simply just about experiencing the empowerment in yourself while knowing that you are a part of an amazing sound.”
Ellie said the choir is for all ages.
“We will welcome anyone who wants to come along and give it a go.”
The experienced vocalist with 15 years performance experience said she loves sharing and teaching the power of singing and the voice.
Ginny Roberts is the guitarist with the choir.
Ginny has trained as a classical guitarist and a guitarist and has been a technician for sound mixing and recording. She has also worked backstage as a technician for large rock concerts.
She has played on stage in rock bands and in duets.
“I love the choir because it has brought me back to my first love in life which is music.”
