ST BRIGID’S Catholic Primary School recently marked 175 years since the first Catholic school was established in Brisbane.
The celebrations at the school started at the beginning of the week with gifts that were made by the students who shared them with local businesses and community groups in Rosewood.
Students enjoyed cake and dressed up in purple and blue coloured clothing, they also enjoyed an afternoon visit from the Ipswich-based St Marys Catholic School.
To conclude the celebrations, the Year One and Year Four students led the school community through a Liturgy where the students sang, acted and read special verses to their fellow students.
Principal Duane Wann said that it was a special time to congratulate Catholic Education throughout Queensland.
“Catholic Education educates through strong morals that prepare all of our students for a bright future,” he said.
“I am very proud of the Year One and Four students who led our school Liturgy as well as our whole school community for applying our good school morals to life experiences every day.”
