A 1970’s Hotdog stand was brought back to life by the Rosewood Men’s Workshop after it was donated to them in 2018.
The men spent numerous hours refurbishing the stand, which included replacing the wheels, welding the roof and chimney, replacing gadgets that were worn and putting in some muscle to give it a good shine and polish.
After showcasing the stand and serving hotdogs on the main street of Rosewood, the men decided to donate it to another community group who may benefit from it.
Rosewood State School Parents and Citizens Secretary, Lisa Fairbridge said after hearing this she approached Rosewood Community Centre Manager Donna Hanlon about the stand.
“I suggested that Rosewood Primary School may be interested in receiving the stand as I thought it would make a great addition to the school’s fundraising activities,” she said.
“Our school is always open to different ways of fundraising on sports days, gala days and discos where we set up food stalls for the school community to purchase from.”
Lisa approached the school’s Deputy Principal Andrew Carter who also agreed with her that it would be a wonderful addition, the men then handed on the stand to the school to see it utilised to its full potential.
Principal Georgia O’Shea said she was thrilled and the stand would hopefully be used at the Gala Day that is coming up towards the end of the term.
