Catholic Education Week at St Brigid’s

ST BRIGID’S Catholic Primary School joined 309 fellow Catholic schools in Queensland this week to celebrate and promote their distinctive mission and ethos for Catholic Education Week.
Principal Duane Wann said the school put an emphasis on making a difference in the lives of those within their school and the wider community.
“We challenged young people to live out the message of Jesus and to reach their full potential as compassionate, contributing, life-giving members of society,” he said.
“This year the school community also acknowledged our Spirit of Catholic Education Week nominee Mrs Amanda Proctor.
“Amanda has been an integral member of the St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School community as both a parent and employee for the last decade.
“Amanda takes responsibility in feature school and parish events that the school participates in such as school and parish masses and liturgies, ANZAC day proceedings, Mother and Father’s Day celebrations, school discos, movie nights, graduations and feast days.”
Mr Wann added that Brisbane Catholic Education and St Brigid’s School lead by a legacy of community, compassion and care and Amanda, along with fellow staff members, are commonly referred to as “shining lights that give light to those around them”.
