IPSWICH City Council has established five new standing committees for the four-year term and two new sub-committees.
Mayor Harding and Deputy Mayor Nicole Jonic will sit on all five committees, with the mayor opting not to be a chair and instead working closely with each committee chair in her role leading to the Ordinary Council Meeting.
“Our new council has a wide breadth of knowledge and experience across many facets of community and business life and this is reflected through our new committees,” Cr Harding said.
“This is a great opportunity for councillors, particularly those newly elected to council, to shape their various portfolios and work with the broader council to bring new ideas and initiatives forward.”
The two sub-committees: the Regulation Advisory Committee, which will report to the Finance and Governance Committee, and the Advocacy Advisory Committee, which will report to the Economic and Cultural Development Committee.
